The office Adventure Club organized a trip to Matheran this August. I had never heard of the place before. But once I asked the mumbai crowd at work, it was pretty obvious to me that Matheran was an extremely popular weekend-trip kinda destination. What I heard of the place from them interested me - hills, rains, mist... I convinced my mumbaiya friend to come along for the trip...cajoled him, more like it! promised him that we would discover the virgin lands of Matheran, we would go where even he (who has been to Matheran numerous times) hasn't been to....etc etc... Finally, he gave in.
So on a friday afternoon, a group of 79 youths boarded a train to go to Matheran.
Matheran was beautiful, it was green..green...green...with patches of red in it...the colour red is in its soil... It was raining when we reached Matheran, it was raining all the time we were there, and it was raining when we left Matheran. Never in my life have i got as drenched as the day we reached Matheran...i wasnt carrying an umbrella or a raincoat... Once you reach the resort, there's not much to do...as in just walking around the place, exploring it... We walked and walked and walked. And it rained and rained and rained. It seemed like there was a hole in the sky and water would JUST NOT stop pouring on us! But the walks and the rains made it one of the most adventurous trips I have ever been on...the constant fear of leeches (I am scared to death of them!)..the monkeys all over the place...the slimy snakes in the monsoon...and in the misdt of it all, we followed some weird trail and landed up at some typical poorani-mandir kinda setting...god! that place was scary and creeeeeepyyy!!!!! straight out of some spooky movie, it seemed! somehow i created a fuss and got out of that freaky trail... :) The other thing I will NEVER forget about the Matheran trip is the feeling when you just dont have anything dry to wear!!

Meeting THE man of my dreams!! :)
It was the best day of my life....the happiest moment ever! The day started as any other... a thursday... only difference...an office party at Novotel. Well, it was rumored to be a dry party, so not many ppl were waiting avidly for it... The evening was going ok....the Dj was awful...but ppl were still dancing & having fun. There was a sudden rumour that John Abraham was in the hotel!! JOHN ABRAHAM!! JOHNNY....the man i ADORE! For once i was veryyyy proactive...went all over the hotel, asking ppl if they have seen john abraham...got many weird looks & answers...but who gives a damn about them when it comes to meeting the man of one's dreams?! Finally i found out that he was having dinner at the restaurant....& after a LONG wait, i saw him....in a black T-shirt that said "i look like john abraham"...well, quite predictably, i almost ran upto him & said that i wanted a pic with him. He was soooo damn cute , he immediately agreed to posing for the pic with me!! The pic came off pretty blurred...so i had to ask him for a 2nd one...& again he obliged sooooo sweetly....no nakhras ... no attitude...awesome!!

Team decoration fiasco
Early in the morning i walk into the office...my team area...& i see the entire area decorated like a kid's birthday party...very gaily with tons of balloons and streamers... looking too colorful & freaky for an office. At that point of time, it didn't even strike me that i could be responsible for this decorative fiasco!
But it turns out that i was...& DIRECTLY so! You can well imagine my embarrassment when i realised in front of the entire team of some 30 odd people that the kiddish decoration was a direct consequence of a certain ticket i had filed the previous day. I wanted the decorative articles... but sadly for me, due to some miscommunication, those very decorative stuff was grotesquely hung all around the team, leading everyone who came to the team to ask weird questions and give funny glances. Call it my bad luck or whatever, i was gleefully ragged by my team-mates... God! The next time i file a ticket, i am gonna be sooo very cautious.... !
